“success is driven by passion”

About Me

As a kid, when someone would ask me what I wanted to be in life, the answer was ‘a veterinary surgeon’, and I still have a school notebook with an ‘essay’ written as a seven-year-old: ‘I want a farm and I want to have horses’.

Sadly, at some point in secondary school, I realised that my talents did not include science, the subjects required for admission to the veterinary school. Instead, I excelled in languages. However, my second childhood wish has definitely materialised. I have my farm and I have my horses.

Not knowing what to study, I started working in the family business, which involved several souvenir shops in Amsterdam. Being born into a small family business means that customer focus runs through my veins. Dealing with tourists taught me a lot about cultural differences, different perspectives, and the importance of conveying a message correctly.

In my thirties I decided to ‘go back to school’ and I studied English at the ITV University of Applied Sciences for Interpreters & Translators in Utrecht, the Netherlands, to become a translator. A step I never regretted. I am as passionate about languages as I am about my horses. The variety of clients with whom I work and the variety of subjects means no two working days are ever the same.

When you decide to work with me you will get a translator who is dedicated, reliable, accurate, thinks along with you, and who does not stop just because it is 5 pm. My work is not done until I am totally happy with the translation or transcreation of your text in the target language.
